Nick - now plays for the University of Notre Dame. Joins the Notre Dame blue line after playing three seasons in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) started 2007-08 season with the NAHL's Marquette Rangers where he had three goals and 29 assists in 42 games before being traded to the St. Louis Bandits where he had a goal and five assists in eight games ... helped lead St. Louis to the 2008 NAHL title and the Robertson Cup ... team won the most games (62) in league history ... selected to play in the 2008 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament ... finished sixth in scoring among defensemen in the NAHL with four goals and 34 assists for 38 points in 55 games ... played the 2006-07 campaign with Marquette, scoring two goals with 20 assists for 22 points in 58 contests ... spent first season in NAHL with the North Iowa Outlaws ... in 40 games had five goals and 10 assists for 15 points ... one of six Notre Dame players to have seen action in the NAHL, ... one of seven members in the freshman class ... signed in the late-signing period (spring of `08) ... one of two Wisconsin natives, along with senior defenseman Luke Lucyk (Fox Point) on the current Notre Dame roster ... becomes the 14th Wisconsin native to play at Notre Dame.
Nate plays junior hockey in the USHL and is moving onto the University of Minnesota next year. Nate also was a 7th round NHL draft pick by Colorado Avalanche. Zingler wins Most Valuable Player at Yale!Former Wausau WarJack/Wausau West Warrior Sheila Zingler capped off a terrific senior season at Yale University by receiving the Most Valuable Player award on April 17th, 2007. Sheila, who was selected to play in the NCAA's Frozen Four Skills Challenge, finished the season with a fourth best single season assist total (18), fifth best single-season point total (35), and 10th best single-season goal total (17) in Yale history. Congratulations Sheila!!
Brandt wins Seventh Man Award!Former Wausau WarJack/West Warrior/Wisconsin Badger Andy Brandt won the Jim Santulli 7th Man Award April 6, 2007 at the UW Badger Men's hockey awards banquet. The award is voted on by viewers of Wisconsin Public Television and given to the player that best represents the Badger trademarks of team spirit and good sportsmanship. This is only the 2nd time in the award's 25 year history that the same player has won the award twice. Andy won the award after his sophomore season. He continues to play hockey with the ECHL Gwinnett Gladiators of Duluth, GA.
Update Nov 6, 2007: Andy Brandt scored his first professional goal October 31, helping Gwinnett (ECHL) beat Mississippi 6-2. He added the game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory over Charlotte three days later
