NEW THIS YEAR -- BACKGROUND SCREENING

Any official who is 18 or older as of July 31, 2007 and who wishes to officiate USA Hockey games in Wisconsin this year must have a background check. You must have your background screen done before you can register for a seminar in Wisconsin -- there are absolutely no exceptions

You can find out more about the screening and get instruction on how to get screened on the WHOA web site (www.wihoa.com). It can take up to two weeks for the background check to be completed. Since seminar registration begins on August 1, 2007 is is advisable to get screened immediately.

OFFICIAL MUST BE CERTIFIED

New or returning officials who plan on officiating games during the 2007/2008 season must be registered with USA Hockey and Certified by the Wisconsin Hockey Officials Association (WHOA) by attending an Officiating Seminar. Everyone must be pre-register for the seminars online starting at 8:00 AM on August 8.  Space at all seminars is limited and you must pre-register in order to reserve you seat.
