- HISTORY - Marathon County Youth Hockey (originally
Wausau Area Youth Hockey is a non-profit, volunteer based association
formed to serve our community's school age youth within the boundaries
of the Wausau School District.
- OBJECTIVE - MCYH is dedicated to the development of hockey
skills and attitudes of area youth for the purpose of fielding
competitive teams and to benefit our Wausau High School programs.
We expect our players to strive to the highest standards of playing
skills and conduct both on and off the ice.
- COSTLY? - Thanks to the tremendous volunteer contribution
of association members, MCYH programs are affordable for all income
levels. Our Learn-to-Skate Programs are free and our introductory
Mini-Mite program has no registration fee and provides most equipment (excluding
skates and stick) for all youth interested in trying the sport.
- KIDS - Kids on ice are seldom in hot water! In
addition to learning specific skills, MCYH assists our community youth
in developing personal character by promoting positive values such as
teamwork and good sportsmanship.
- Enjoyment - All of our coaches are USA Hockey certified
ensuring all players are provided a truly fun, learning environment
that keeps our players returning season after season.
- Yes - Yes, sign me up for the "Coolest game on ice!"
Interested players and parents should feel free to
contact our
registrar or any Board member for further details. Registration occurs
in early September and additional details are fees are provided on our
current season registration form.

WHAT IS A WARJACK????

that best represented their association. The winning design combined the two local high school logos:
Wausau West High School WARriors
Wausau East High School LumberJACKS
MCYH ALUMNI NEWS
Help us build a MCYH/WarJack alumni page. Send me any information you
may have on former MCYH players that continued to play hockey after
leaving Wausau. Most helpful would be a listing of years played with
MCYH and their playing history afterwards.
